What is your experience as a crafter?
I have been making handcrafted bath and body products since 2003. My sewing experience goes back to 7th grade and years later made my wedding dress and those in my party.
How did you start your business?
I stopped one day at a store in the town where I lived that made handcrafted bath and body products. In time, the owner hired me as I showed allot of interest in what she made. I made soaps, lotions, shower gel, body dew sprays under her supervision and became quite a quick learner. Eventually, she left the store in my hands to run the business in her absence. I totally ran the business in all aspects and was given the business card to do whatever ordering needed to be bought, worked with the accountant, etc.
In my research, I found handcrafting naturally made products was the only safe way to go. Originally, when I went to the Malls, the first place I went to first was to the Bath and Body Store because their products smelled so good. After working for sometime making naturally made products I found that bath and body products contained preservatives, additives and lanolin and many of their products have been pulled off the selves as some products have been rumored to cause cancer. What I made was all natural and safer. Today, I do not visit the bath and body store any longer. Lastly, I felt I could do much better than working at the store that I started my own business and had web sites created for me.
What does your soaps consist of?
Our soaps consist of glycerin base with color and essential oils added. We make soaps into loafs, bars and baby and wedding shower favors.
What are the soap types you make?
We make numerous soaps of all kinds: Cherry, Citrus, Floral, Foods, Fruit, Green Earth, Men's, Ocean, Skin Specific, Seasonal, Woods, and much more.
Do you make lotions?
Yes, we do. Every scent shown throughout our web site we can make into a lotion. Our most popular lotion is the Goat Milk and Honey Lotion which is unscented and helps with dry chapped skin.
Have you ever written an article and had it published?
Yes, I have written and had published: History of Baby Showers, History of Wedding Showers, Basic Skin Care, History and Facts of Blueberries, and one pending entitled, "Mosquitoes, Are you prepared to deal with them?"
